# Eight irregular tú commands: di, haz, ve, pon, sal, sé, ten, ven

> id: conjugation.imperative.tu-irregular · category: conjugation · depth: standard · levels: A2 · review: internally_reviewed

**Summary.** Decir → di, hacer → haz, ir → ve, poner → pon, salir → sal, ser → sé, tener → ten, venir → ven. Negative commands switch to the subjunctive: no digas, no hagas.

The affirmative tú imperative is normally the third-person present form (habla, come). Eight verbs shorten it instead: di, haz, ve, pon, sal, sé, ten, ven.

Derived verbs keep the short form and add a written accent: mantener → mantén, proponer → propón, prevenir → prevén (but deshacer → deshaz, no accent needed).

These short forms exist only in the affirmative. Negative commands always use the present subjunctive: no digas, no hagas, no vayas, no seas. The vos imperative is regular for most of these: decí, hacé, vení, salí, tené — except ser (sé) and ir (andá).

## Examples
