# Present tense: regular -ir verbs

> id: conjugation.present.regular-ir · category: conjugation · depth: standard · levels: A1 · review: internally_reviewed

**Summary.** Same endings as -er verbs except nosotros -imos and vosotros -ís. Vivir: vivo, vives, vive, vivimos, vivís, viven.

Regular -ir verbs share almost everything with -er verbs in the present. Only two forms differ: nosotros takes -imos (vivimos, not *vivemos) and vosotros takes -ís (vivís).

So the full set is -o, -es, -e, -imos, -ís, -en. If you already know -er verbs, you only memorize the nosotros and vosotros endings.

The vos form is stem + -ís with final stress (vos vivís, vos escribís) — identical in writing to the vosotros form, but used for one person.

## Examples
- Vivimos en Santa Cruz. — We live in Santa Cruz.
- Ella escribe correos en español. — She writes emails in Spanish.
- ¿Dónde vivís vos? — Where do you live? (voseo)
