¿Me + verb + ...? is the everyday neutral request: ¿me pasas el agua?, ¿me ayudas un segundo? — softer than an imperative, lighter than podría.

There's a softness ladder: ¿puedes…? → ¿podrías…? → ¿podría usted…? → ¿le molestaría…? / ¿sería tan amable de…?, with quisiera stating the wish gently (quisiera reservar).
