Erklärung
Con covers the main senses of English 'with': accompaniment (vivo con mis padres, café con leche), the instrument or tool used (lo corté con un cuchillo, escribe con lápiz), and combinations of things (pan con queso, arroz con pollo).
It also forms manner expressions, where con + an abstract noun replaces many -mente adverbs: con cuidado ('carefully'), con calma, con frecuencia, con ganas. This is extremely common and natural.
Two grammar points. The pronoun fusions are obligatory: conmigo, contigo, and reflexive consigo ('with himself/herself'); you can't say *con mí. And many verbs select con as their fixed preposition: contar con ('rely on'), soñar con ('dream of'), casarse con, cumplir con — learn them as verb + con.
